Inquiry into conduct of the Secretary of the New Zealand Treasury
The State Services Commission commenced an inquiry into conduct of the Secretary of Treasury New Zealand in the aftermath of the leak of confidential Budget 2019 information.
Given Michael Heron’s wealth of experience in conducting similar inquiries and the processes that must be followed, he was asked to review and provide advice in relation to the process and draft report.
The investigation was conducted by Deputy State Services Commissioner, Mr John Ombler QSO, who was concerned to ensure that the conduct of the inquiry met the requirements of natural justice and was fair and balanced to all involved. Michael was able to provide expert, hard-earned expertise that helped ensure the inquiry met these key criteria.
